AMC went after Volkswagen owners with a car called Gremlin. You have to admire that level of confidence.

This original 1972 Gremlin X ad shows the car on a city street and makes its case for persuading people to trade in their Volkswagens. It’s a terrific bit of automotive rivalry on paper. Ideal for an AMC fan or anyone who likes a car with a memorable shape and absolutely no desire to blend into the parking lot.
